Tomas Rosicky makes interesting comment about Mikel Arteta after watching Arsenal this season

In a period in which Arsenal are lacking a bit of star quality, Mikel Arteta would probably like to turn to a prime Tomas Rosicky in the middle.

Arteta and Rosicky were good friends whilst playing together at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, two players who were always popular among the N5 faithful.

As a player, it’s hard to argue that Rosicky won’t be remembered more vibrantly, though, nicknamed the ‘little Mozart’ in north London.

Unfortunately, Rosicky didn’t win the Premier League with Arsenal, he joined in 2006 once league titles had dried up under Wenger.

But after 206 appearances for Arsenal and 28 goals, Rosicky did still enjoy his fair share of success, winning two FA Cup medals.

Tomas Rosicky thinks Arsenal can win the Premier League this season

That being said, Rosicky was in England on Wednesday evening for Sparta Prague’s tie with Manchester City.

Rosicky is now Sparta’s sporting director and spoke to TNT Sports before their Champions League tie kicked off.

Towards the end of the interview, Rosicky was asked about Arteta and Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League this season – a feat he didn’t think was beyond the Gunners.

Rosicky said: “Yeah he had it in him, for a long time you could see that, when we played together he was already preparing for his next step when he will retire, basically he was doing his badges already as a player and stuff like that.

“So you could see the leadership qualities he had before and you can see now on the bench.

“Yeah of course I wish him well, I hope they can make it and I think the last season they showed, I think Mikel himself and the whole club has what it takes to win it (the Premier League).

“But of course they have to show it, they have to prove it and I believe that they will put up another good challenge and yeah, fingers crossed.”

Arsenal suffer injury crisis before crucial Liverpool tie

Of course, in order to back up Rosicky’s good will, Arsenal will need to find a way to beat Liverpool this weekend.

Although, considering Arsenal’s injury crisis, perhaps it’s just important that Arteta’s side don’t lose.

Liverpool are currently four points ahead of Arsenal in the title-race, and if Arne Slot’s side stretch that lead to seven it could be a daunting mental challenge already.

As mentioned, Arsenal could probably do with Rosicky’s creative qualities on the pitch right now.

And that perhaps explains why the Gunners should turn to Ethan Nwaneri until Martin Odegaard is back fit.
