Tottenham Hotspur were handed a heavy defeat at Fulham, and Arsenal fans are rejoicing for more than one reason.
Spurs lost 3-0 at Craven Cottage after being completely outplayed by the hosts, and they could not find the back of the net for the first time in over a year.
Tottenham had scored in 39 Premier League games in a row, the longest streak of any Premier League side, and should this have continued, it could have put an old Arsene Wenger record in jeopardy.
Despite having several chances when 3-0 down, they could not pull back a consolation goal in what was a disappointing evening, and Arsenal will be delighted as one record still remains intact.
Arsenal scoring record still remains intact after Spurs defeat
The longest scoring streak in Premier League history is held by Arsenal, who scored in 55 consecutive games throughout 2002.
This record has been held for 22 years, but Tottenham’s form in front of goal may have put this in danger if they kept it up over the course of the season and beyond.
Arsenal are also the only team to score in every game in a Premier League season, achieving this feat in the 2001-02 season when Wenger won the double, and Spurs may have also been eyeing this record up until today’s defeat.
Arsenal’s impressive scoring record in 2002

Wenger won his second Premier League title in style, with a victory at Old Trafford confirming Arsenal as Champions, and it was no less than they deserved.
The Gunners scored in every single league game, and are still the only side to score in every away game over the course of a season.
Spurs have attacked with more intent under Ange Postecoglou, and their chaotic games have meant that they scored in every game this season, until now.
They were second best in every department at Fulham, and whilst they did miss some big chances, 3-0 was a deserved scoreline, and they will be worried at the ease in which former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno dealt with their chances.
In 2002, the likes of Thierry Henry, Sylvain Wiltord and Freddie Ljungberg were on fire throughout the season, and Arsenal stormed to a famous double which also saw them win the FA Cup.
Their ruthlessness in front of goal meant that there was no game in which they struggled to find the back of the net, and this proved to be vital in the title race.
