Arsenal take on Manchester City in the Premier League in what is their biggest home game of the season so far.

The Gunners have had a good start to the new campaign, winning three of their first four league games. They have scored nine goals and have conceded just one, which is an incredible record.

Manchester City have won two and lost two so far, and are currently three points and six places behind Mikel Arteta’s side.

That gap could either increase or disappear when the two sides meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Troy Deeney predicts the result of Arsenal vs Manchester City

Arsenal and Manchester City have developed a heated rivalry in recent years.

The two sides fought for the Premier League title in back-to-back seasons, and although the Gunners pushed hard, they lost out on both occasions.

In the 2024/25 campaign, however, Arsenal finished above Manchester City, and many people think that will happen again this time around.

The game on Sunday will tell us a lot about the two sides. The Gunners may just be the favourites, having won the last meeting 5-1.

However, Troy Deeney, who changed his mind twice, believes City will emerge victorious at the Emirates on Sunday.

He said on The Football Exchange: “I’m going for a 2-1 Man City. No, actually, I want to flip that, I want to go 2-1 to Arsenal.

“My logic is that I can see City struggling with set-pieces, but I can’t call this because now they have a keeper like Donnarumma. The midfield is probably a bit better.

“Do you know what? I’m going back to the original, 2-1 to Man City!”

Arsenal’s last five results vs Manchester City

Manchester City have mostly been the favourites against Arsenal over the last few years.

Pep Guardiola had the best team in the Premier League at his disposal, and it has never been easy for any club to get a result against them.

However, Arsenal have fared really well against City in recent meetings.

As the table shows above, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last five games against Manchester City, winning two and drawing three.

Playing at home, Arsenal should go for the win against Guardiola’s men on Sunday, and they showed last season that they are more than capable.
