According to a report from Calcio Mercato News, Italian heavyweights Inter Milan and AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.

The German playmaker has been frozen out by Gunners boss Unai Emery and an exit is likely in January. Ozil has played just 71 minutes of league football this season which is shocking considering how poor we have been.

Milan’s poor start in the league has forced them to bring in Stefano Pioli as their new boss. Pioli will be looking to turn things around quickly and a proven playmaker like Ozil could be a dream signing.

Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan have been brilliant so far but it has been overly evident that they lack a playmaker. Ozil would be an incredible signing for the Nerazzurri and his vision could unleash Romelu Lukaku to his absolute best.

The report reveals that the biggest hurdle for both these clubs will be Ozil’s astronomical wages. The former Real Madrid man will need to take a pay cut if he wants to stay in one of Europe’s top leagues and considering his lack of game time at Arsenal, it could well be worth it.

Arsenal will arguably be making a huge mistake by letting their most creative player leave. However, Emery’s reluctance to play him has surely dampened his spirits which makes a move away from Arsenal a perfect opportunity to enjoy his final few years at a top club.
