Arsenal’s pre-season has officially started.

A number of first-team players returned to the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Wednesday to begin preparations for the 2025/26 season.

It was good to see Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga train with their new teammates for the first time, while the likes of Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Declan Rice and William Saliba returning was a great sight as well.

Another player who was back from his holiday was Kai Havertz.

The German missed a chunk of last season due to a serious hamstring injury, and he worked really hard to return to full fitness.

While doing so, Havertz bulked up significantly, and Arsenal fans think he has gotten even bigger now after seeing pictures of him in training on Wednesday.

Arsenal fans shocked by Kai Havertz’s size in pre-season training

In May, Mikel Arteta hailed Havertz as ‘unbelievable’ and revealed that he ‘destroyed’ all the records set in the Arsenal gym over the last decade.

That is the reason why the German looked bigger on his return from injury, and it looks like he has done a lot of work over the summer as well.

Arsenal fans are shocked by his size now.

One Arsenal fan tweeted: “Havertz is looking terrifying right now!”

Another wrote: “Jesus, he’s huge!”

“Just look at his size now. Wow! Arteta ain’t benching him,” said another.

Another Gooner tweeted: “Dangerous Kai, he will be unstoppable this season.”

“Look at the size of Havertz,” wrote another fan with a shocked face emoji.

Arsenal could have two huge strikers soon

Arsenal have been a physical side under Mikel Arteta, but their attackers haven’t really been physically dominant.

Yes, Havertz and Mikel Merino have always been big and strong, but they didn’t consistently get the better of centre-halves in duels.

That is likely to change now with Havertz looking massive, and joining him could be Viktor Gyokeres, who is a physical specimen himself.

Arsenal don’t usually play with two strikers, but if Arteta chooses to start both Havertz and Gyokeres together up top, they will cause all sorts of problems to the defenders.
