Arsenal and Manchester United are among the biggest clubs in English football.
The two historic Premier League sides had many great battles in the past, and that rivalry earned them many new fans at that time.
One player who was a big supporter of Manchester United was Aaron Ramsey, and he had an offer from the Red Devils to join them.
However, the Welshman rejected them and signed for Arsenal instead.
Is Aaron Ramsey the biggest Arsenal legend of the Emirates Stadium era? If not, who is?
Aaron Ramsey says he rejected Manchester United for Arsenal
Ramsey was one of the most talented players in Wales when he was younger.
The midfielder attracted a lot of interest when he was coming through at Cardiff City, and at one point, it looked like he was on his way to Manchester United.
However, Ramsey rejected the Red Devils, even though he grew up supporting them as a kid. He chose to join Arsenal instead, and he has confirmed that now.
On Stadium Astro, Ramsey was asked what the funniest rumour he had heard about himself was.

The ‘unbelievable‘ former Gunner jokingly replied: “That I was a Man United fan growing up. I don’t know where they got that from.”
The presenter pressed him by saying: “I know you were a Man United fan growing up.”
Ramsey said: “I mean, yeah, I had a couple of Man United shirts forced upon me when I was younger.”
Then, the presenter asked him if he would have joined the Red Devils if they ever came in with an offer to sign him.
The Wales icon replied: “They did, but I didn’t. I turned them down to go to Arsenal.”
In their prime, who was the better midfielder for Arsenal – Aaron Ramsey or Jack Wilshere?
Manchester United were embarrassed by Arsenal when they tried to sign Aaron Ramsey
As we said earlier, it really did look like Ramsey was going to sign for Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United.
A deal was so close that the Red Devils even announced on their website that they had agreed a fee to sign the midfielder from Cardiff.
That left them embarrassed, as even though an agreement was reached with Ramsey’s club, the player did not want to join them.
The Welshman preferred Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger got the deal over the line very quickly.
Ramsey produced many great moments for the Gunners over the years, but one can only wonder how much better he would’ve been if injuries hadn’t affected him.
