Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been outstanding in recent games, and his display against West Ham United was particularly exceptional.

The 22-year-old became the youngest Arsenal player to score 50 goals for the club since Frank Stapleton in 1978 with his brace at the London Stadium, and he also reached 100 goals and assists at senior level, a remarkable feat in itself.

Despite receiving criticism and a lack of depth in his position being highlighted throughout the season, Saka has had an excellent campaign in front of goal, and his output makes him one of the best players in the Premier League.

Several stats have now emerged that highlight Saka’s brilliance as one of the best wingers in the world.

Saka stands out in Premier League for several stats

Squawka have now highlighted that the England winger has the most touches in the opposition box than any other player in the division, with 181, highlighting his security on the ball in the final third.

In addition to this, no other player can match Saka in performing exceptionally well in a combination of dribbling, chance creation, winning possession in the final third, tackling, scoring and assisting.

Saka is the only player with more than 25 take-ons completed, open play chances created, tackles and instances of winning possession in the final third, whilst also having more than five goals and five assists to his name.

Mikel Arteta has previously described Saka as “unique,” and truer words have never been spoken.

Whilst some wingers may be more potent in front of goal, such as Mohamed Salah, there is no one in the league right now who can match Saka for output, quality on the ball, creativity, as well as work-rate and ruggedness out of possession.

Saka is vital for Arsenal’s attack, given the way he can create, score, dribble and press, and his intelligence on the pitch is particularly shown through his strong decision-making ability.

He is now reaching a new level of output this season, whilst also playing a vital role in Arteta’s system. As the most popular player at the club and a Hale End graduate, there is perhaps very few players in the world that Arsenal fans would trade their gem for, and if they are to challenge for major honours this season, Saka will have a huge part to play.
