Arsenal picked up a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates this afternoon thanks to Reiss Nelson‘s 98th-minute winner.
The Gunners didn’t look at their best today. We conceded after just 11 seconds and allowed the visitors to double their lead after the break.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men showed the mentality of champions to come back and win 3-2 thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Ben White and Nelson.

Paul Merson’s live reaction to Reiss Nelson’s dramatic Arsenal winner
The pressure was on Arsenal before a ball was even kicked at the Emirates today after Manchester City won their game against Newcastle United in the early kickoff.
That reduced the gap to just two points at the top of the table, and things went from bad to worse just 11 seconds into the game as Bournemouth took the lead through Philip Billing. Marcos Senesi put them 2-0 up and Arsenal wondered if it was one of those days.
However, the lads just did not give up.
Partey pulled one back in the 62nd minute and Ben White scored his first-ever goal for us just eight minutes later to level the game.
Bournemouth continued to defend well and it seemed like we’d have to settle for a point in the end. However, Nelson popped up at the edge of the box and scored an absolute stunner with his weaker foot in what was the final kick of the game.
The Emirates erupted, as did Paul Merson in Sky Sports studios, who jumped off his seat to celebrate before calming himself down to continue commentating. “What a goal, what a goal, what a goal,” he shouted.

Massive three points
You just can’t write this Arsenal side off!
We did this against Manchester United in January, against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa away from home last month, and now against Bournemouth in the final kick of the game.
This is what champions do, and this result will give all the lads huge belief that they really can go all the way and win the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal remain five points clear of Manchester City.
