Gabriel Martinelli‘s Brazil will kick off their World Cup campaign tonight against Serbia, and the Arsenal man has received a message of support from DJ Khaled.
Yep, you didn’t just misread that. The American DJ, record executive, producer and rapper surprised everyone by shouting out a few players, and our Martinelli received some love too.

Rapper DJ Khaled sends a message to Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli
Many people expected Martinelli to not get called up to the Brazil squad for the World Cup in Qatar. Fans and experts felt he’d just miss out, but Tite did the right thing.
The 21-year-old, along with Gabriel Jesus, will be available for selection when Brazil take on Serbia tonight.
It’s unlikely that either player will start because of Selecao’s outrageous attacking options, but they are both more than good enough to perform if called upon.
DJ Khaled sure hopes Martinelli will get an opportunity. He wished the Arsenal man and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr well with a message on behalf of Roc Nation Sports International.
He says: “Bless up Vini Jr and Martinelli! This is DJ Khaled sending you love. They ain’t believe in us, God did!”

The Insider’s View:
Brazil’s front three for the game against Serbia in Qatar this afternoon will likely feature Vinicius Jr, Neymar and Richarlison. All three of them are solid options for Tite and have proven it in Yellow in the past.
If one of them drops out, Jesus is probably the next one in contention. He can do just as good a job as Richarlison, if not better, and he has shown that in the Premier League since the start of the campaign.
On paper, Martinelli is unlikely to get too many opportunities in Qatar, but we won’t be surprised at all if he has caught Tite’s eye in training. As a substitute, he would be a sensational weapon – one that could terrorise tired defences late in the game.
We don’t know what Tite will decide, but if he’s a fan of DJ Khaled, he may well be tempted to use Martinelli at some stage tonight.
