Gyokeres will be looking to build on his 21 goals scored for Arsenal by also showcasing his goal-scoring prowess at the World Cup.

Sweden already have a strong squad selected by Graham Potter, but Gyokeres has been asked which Arsenal teammate he would like to see join him.

Viktor Gyokeres would add Riccardo Calafiori to Sweden’s squad

Viktor Gyokeres claims Riccardo Calafiori is the one Arsenal player he would love to add to Sweden’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The striker has picked the Italian defender as his nation will not be heading to this summer’s tournament after losing to Bosnia in qualifying.

Speaking to TV4, Gyokeres said: “If I had to recruit someone from the team to Sweden? Okay, but only in the squad then? It’s hard.

“Calafiori, because he won’t be playing in the World Cup. So he’ll have to come here so he can play in the World Cup.”

💰 Fill in the blank: Real Madrid MUST pay £__m to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Arsenal this summer…

Calafiori had an awful evening on what was a dark evening for Italian football, as they failed to reach back-to-back World Cup tournaments.

The 23-year-old is one of the best defenders in Europe; however, he will not be able to showcase his talent on the world’s biggest stage.

Riccardo Calafiori linked with Arsenal departure

Real Madrid are trying to sign Calafiori this summer, following a request from the club’s new manager, Jose Mourinho.

However, Calafiori to Real Madrid is ‘not advancing’, and it seems unlikely that Mikel Arteta would want to part ways with him.

The Gunners are so well stacked at left-back, with Piero Hincapie and Myles Lewis-Skelly their other two options in defence.
