Viktor Gyokeres starred for Arsenal as they hammered Fulham 3-0 and he’s been discussing the title run-in in the aftermath.

Gyokeres notched a timely double for the Gunners to see off the Cottagers and give The Emirates a welcome confidence boost ahead of a huge few weeks.

Arsenal now sit six clear of Man City at the summit and can reach the Champions League final by beating Atletico Madrid.

And for Gyokeres, the time has come for Arsenal to step on the gas and do their part.

Gyokeres getting a few goals was massive both for him and the club and it will do his confidence the world of good.

This is the Gyokeres Arsenal signed in the summer and now with 20 goals in all competitions, his first season has been a success.

Indeed, speaking after the game, Gyokeres admitted that Arsenal have to keep believing.

“At this stage, we have to win the games that are left. We showed a good performance and are happy to have got the three points,” Gyokeres told BBC Sport.

“I think we always go into games believing we’re going to play well and create a lot of chances. Today we did that and we enjoyed it.

“We never stopped believing. We’re not going to. That’s how it is and we keep going. We just need to focus on the next game.

“It’s been good. We’ve had some good results. We’re on a good path, but we have to stay there and keep going like this.”

Commenting on if he felt Arsenal could get over the line and win some silverware, Gyokeres admitted that it’s crunch time.

“It’s not so many games left now. We’re in a good position now, so of course [we have a good chance].”

With Gyokeres now being the main man at the top end of the pitch and Kai Havertz out injured again, it’s hard to see the Swede being dropped now.

Havertz faces a fight to get back into the team and at this moment, the shirt is Gyokeres’.

Mikel Arteta faces a tough choice if Havertz is back for midweek. But right now, it has to be Gyokeres who gets the nod.
