Arsenal will take on Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium later today.

Mikel Arteta will be working his squad hard on the training pitch, preparing them for this crucial fixture. Although Arsenal are the favourites heading into this game, the manager can’t afford for his players to become complacent.

This is something of a must win game for Arsenal, at least as far as their Premier League title hopes are concerned. The North London club need to start eating into Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League table, and certainly can’t allow the Reds to extend their nine point advantage. 

Paul Merson has backed Arsenal to batter Manchester United, but they will have to be at their best to ensure that that prediction comes true.

Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli impress in Arsenal training

Arsenal recently shared behind the scenes footage of the first team squad in training ahead of this showdown with the Red Devils, which can be viewed on YouTube here.

Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli were both able to particularly impress on the training pitch. The duo were both seen beating opponents in one-on-ones and finding the back of the net with clinical finishes.

Having been rested against West Ham United last time out, Martinelli needs to start against Manchester United. Arteta has to recognise that the Brazilian winger’s pace will represent a real threat to the Manchester United defence.

Will Nwaneri play vs Manchester United?

Nwaneri is very unlikely to feature against Manchester United from the off, as the 17-year-old sensation is still waiting for his first Premier League start.

However, Arteta has already shown that he is willing to trust the Hale End academy wonderkid as a substitute in big games. Already this season, Nwaneri has featured off the bench against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United, amongst others.

Arsenal fans are excited about Nwaneri, and for good reason. The midfielder is a colossal talent with a bright future, and there is a strong chance that he will at least be afforded a cameo appearance against Manchester United this evening.
