Amid the euphoria of seeing the European Super League crumble, Arsenal fans have received some terrible news ahead of our game on Friday.

The Gunners host Everton in the Premier League in a game that means very little. We don’t really have a lot to play for in the league, but a positive result will give us a huge boost ahead of our big clash against Unai Emery’s Villarreal next week.

Mikel Arteta will definitely want to win the game against the Toffees, but he will have to do so without two of his best goalscorers.

Arsenal confirmed today that both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are ruled out for the game at the Emirates on Friday.

The former is yet to recover fully from the Malaria that he picked up while on international duty. He is expected to return to light training soon, but he will play no part against Everton.

Lacazette, on the other hand, picked up a hamstring problem against Fulham last week. His immediate reaction looked extremely worrying, but Arsenal have hinted that there is a chance he may return for one of the games next week.

Arsenal fans, predictably, are distraught with the news coming out of London Colney. Laca and Auba are our two top goalscorers. They are also massive leaders on the pitch and missing them is a huge blow ahead of the game on Friday.

Here’s how a few Gooners reacted to the news on Twitter:
