Arsenal star Declan Rice has sent a message to Bukayo Saka on social media.
Arsenal’s Premier League encounter with Sheffield United on Saturday was a momentous occasion for Bukayo Saka. With Martin Odegaard benched for the match, Saka led the Arsenal team out before the match as captain for the first time in his career.
Declan Rice, who was captain of West Ham United prior to his £105 million switch to the north London club, will understand what this experience meant to Saka.
Saka has been on the books with the Gunners since he was seven-years-old. The 22-year-old winger is now an established star and a fan-favourite at the club. He has made almost 200 first team appearances for the club, scored 43 goals, and is a talismanic figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Arteta recently confirmed that Saka is part of his ‘leadership group’. Rice is another player who may well be handed the armband at some point, as the manager has already stated that he believes the 24-year-old could be a future Arsenal captain.
Both players are clearly set to play a huge role in the club’s future.

After the match, Saka took to social media to celebrate the occasion. The £195,000-a-week ace said on Instagram that is was an “honour leading my team out to victory today.” He also spared a moment to congratulate Eddie Nketiah on his hat trick.
Rice responded to this post by saying, “What a sight.”
There is clearly a great level of team spirit in this Arsenal dressing room, and the whole squad will currently be on a high having thrashed Sheffield United in such an emphatic fashion. It was a big day for Saka, a big day for Nketiah, and an important result in the context of keeping Arsenal in the mix at the top end of the Premier League table.
