Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new long-term contract at the club.

Fans of the North London side have been focusing on incomings this summer, but Andrea Berta has been working hard behind the scenes on internal contracts as well.

Lewis-Skelly was one of Arsenal’s best players last season, but his future was up in the air because he was about to enter the final year of his contract.

Now, Charles Watts has revealed that Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new deal, and an official announcement is expected ‘shortly’ from Arsenal.

Myles Lewis-Skelly agreeing a new contract is massive news.

The teenager was a revelation in the 2024/25 season. His performances were so good that he became the club’s first-choice left-back ahead of senior stars like Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney.

Lewis-Skelly’s new deal comes on the back of Arsenal tying Gabriel Magalhaes to a new contract recently, but Berta is not stopping just there.

Watts has revealed that after sealing the deal with Lewis-Skelly, Berta is continuing talks with four other Arsenal players to extend their contracts:

• Ethan Nwaneri: The youngster’s current deal ends in 2026
• William Saliba: The French defender’s contract expires in 2027
• Bukayo Saka: The England star’s deal runs out in 2027 too
• Leandro Trossard: The Belgian attacker’s contract expires in 2026

Talks with the representatives of all of the above players are ongoing, with Berta hoping to secure their signatures in the near future.

Myles Lewis-Skelly gets a big salary increase

Lewis-Skelly’s last contract was signed when he was nowhere near the first team.

The teenager was only earning £4,000 a week on his old deal (Goal), but that figure is expected to shoot up thanks to his new contract.

The Athletic have revealed that Lewis-Skelly is now set to become ‘one of the best-paid young players in the world’ thanks to his new deal.

His exact salary is unclear, at the time of writing, but nobody can deny the fact that he deserves whatever big money Arsenal have agreed to pay him.

We hope the likes of Saka, Saliba and Nwaneri will follow the youngster and pen new deals as soon as possible.
