Arsenal are sensing an opportunity to create a period of dominance under Mikel Arteta, with many of their Premier League rivals set for change next season.
The Gunners will head into next season as defending champions and looking to keep hold of their crown as kings of England.
🏆 Fill in the blank: I am ___% confident Arsenal can retain our Premier League title next season…
Mikel Arteta’s team won their first Premier League title in 22 years this season as they beat Manchester City to the top spot by seven points.
Following their first title in 22 years, the North London club are now backing themselves to do it again next season and are ready to work hard this summer to keep improving.
Arsenal’s ambitious transfer plans
Arsenal have very ambitious transfer plans for this summer, and are ready to heavily invest in the squad once again, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “For Arsenal, it’s going to be an important summer. Obviously, it remains a fantastic season, winning the Premier League after 22 years, and being a Champions League finalist.
“So Arsenal are still very satisfied with what they did. But in the summer, they’re going to be busy.
“I think there could be three or four signings for Arsenal, also based on exits. But there will be movement up front.
Arsenal are targeting a left winger as a priority, with a striker, a midfielder, and a right-back also on Andrea Berta’s to-do list.
Now that you’ve all had time to reflect, why did Arsenal lose the Champions League final?
“I already told you, a winger is an absolute priority for Arsenal. A striker is a possibility in midfield and at right back,” he added.
“Arsenal have been searching for players since January already. Then in January, they didn’t find the right opportunity, and so they didn’t want to waste their money.
“But I think Arsenal will be very busy this summer. Will invest important money. We’ll try to complete their squad in the best way possible.”
Arsenal sense a window for a winning era under Mikel Arteta
Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool will all have new managers next season and will be looking to rebuild again, so Arsenal will be ready to take advantage of that.
“They see an opportunity with several clubs making changes in the Premier League. Liverpool will have a new manager,” said Romano.
“Manchester City will have a new manager. Chelsea will have a new manager. Arsenal will stay consistent with Mikel Arteta.
“So they believe it’s the opportunity to put the right players in to include some new faces and then try to open a winning era under Mikel Arteta.”
This is a great opportunity now for the Gunners to assert their dominance over the Premier League, with this summer being so important towards aiding that bid.
