Mikel Arteta boasts incredible record against Manchester United in the Premier League

Manchester United knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup earlier on in the season when they won the tie at the Emirates Stadium on penalties. When it comes to the league however, the Gunners have formed a formidable presence over their great rivals in recent years.

Mikel Arteta currently holds the highest win percentage of any Premier League manager who has faced United more than five times.

The Spaniard has overseen 11 league games during his reign against the Red Devils and lost on just one occasion back in 2022 at Old Trafford.

Out of those 11 games, Arsenal have won seven and drawn three and remarkably have won the last five league meetings in a row – Ruben Amorim’s side have it all to do ahead of the clash.

Arsenal had David Raya to thank for their 2-0 win over Manchester United this season

The most recent meeting between the two sides came earlier this season when goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba were enough to see the Gunners to three points.

With the game in the balance at 1-0, David Raya produced a ‘game changer’ moment as he brilliantly saved from a Matthijs De Ligt header.

Arsenal know that they will have to keep United at bay once again and then try to impose themselves in attacking areas just as they did in Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Arteta’s side will also be fully aware that Manchester United will not want to extend their losing run against them and will be going all out to put a further dent into the Gunners domestic season.
