Arsenal fans have hilariously taken aim at Rio Ferdinand en-route to Porto ahead of the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League tie this Wednesday.

The north London side travel to Portugal in what is one of Mikel Arteta’s biggest games yet as Arsenal manager, with the Premier League sude failing to make the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 14 years.

With Arsenal in flying form, the Gunners have a real chance of breaking the curse and making it into the final eight of Europe’s elite club competition, and fans are in good spirits heading to Porto.

Rio Ferdinand mocked by Arsenal fans on flight ahead of Champions League clash

As per the Athletic’s James McNicholas on Twitter, TNT Sport pundit Ferdinand was hilariously mocked by Arsenal fans on the flight to Porto after the defender’s recent comments on Bukayo Saka.

Ferdinand revealed he didn’t believe the Arsenal winger wasn’t world-class amid ongoing debate on whether or not the England superstar is yet to break into the illusive club.

With Saka already beating his goal-contribution record from last season, it’s safee to say that the 22-year-old is on course for a brilliant year with Arsenal, with the attacker thriving in Europe already this campaign.

And for Ferdinand, the pundit has been rightly mocked en-route to Porto for his controversial opinion on Saka, who could prove the former United defender wrong even more so tomorrow night in Portugal.

Saka has flourished in his first year in the Champions League, with the Arsenal attacker leading the goal contributions chart in the group stage phase of the competition.

And heading into tomorrow’s clash in Porto, Saka could have another field day in Europe, especially with the attacker coming into the game with a fantastic record in the Premier League.

Six goals in the last four games has made Saka the in-form player for Arsenal, and the forward could enjoy a historic night in Portugal if he gets his groove on.
