Arsenal are set to begin their Premier League title challenge, and this time they will hope to steal Manchester City’s crown.

Mikel Arteta’s side went toe to toe with Man City in the last two title races, but fell just short on both occasions, finishing five points behind in 2022-23, and just two points behind them last season.

However, Arsenal now seem to be better prepared to win the title than ever before, despite a quiet transfer window so far.

Arsenal have more depth at the back with Riccardo Calafiori joining and Jurrien Timber returning from injury, and their young squad now has more experience in high-pressure situations.

The players are confident that they can not only challenge again, but beat Man City to the title, and stop them triumphing for the fifth time in a row.

Arsenal players confident they can win Premier League title

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Wolves, Arteta revealed that in a meeting with the squad, they expressed their confidence about winning the title this season.

“Since the last day. I think we had a gathering together with all the club players and the players said to me we’re going to do it, we want more,” Arteta revealed.

The Arsenal players looked dejected after they fell short on the final day of last season, and they will now hope to right the wrongs of the last two seasons.

Arsenal need strong start this season to boost title chances

Arsenal endured a chaotic start to last season which ultimately contributed to them dropping points. Timber was injured on his debut, and Kai Havertz struggled to settle after arriving from Chelsea.

A key player in Granit Xhaka had departed, and Arteta tried several new tactical systems, of which some failed.

There was uncertainty and heavy focus on the goalkeeping situation after Aaron Ramsdale was dropped for David Raya, and all of these factors contributed to a slower start to the season.

The Arsenal squad is now settled, and they will hope that they can navigate a tough fixture list to fire their way to the top of the league.
