What ‘#ArtetaOut’ trending on social media now means the Arsenal boss must do after Newcastle loss

Arsenal fans will be furious with the performance that the players produced against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side were far from their best at St James’ Park. Arsenal were beaten 1-0 and never really threatened to score.

It is now back-to-back Premier League defeats for the Gunners, who were previously beaten by Bournemouth.

Arsenal have now been warned that they are in real danger of falling out of the Premier League title race altogether this season.

Arteta promised Arsenal fans at the end of last season that trophies are on the way. However, the club appear to have gone backwards since then. The Gunners have won just five of their ten Premier League fixtures so far this season, and they are now very much on the back foot as far as the title race is concerned.

Some supporters of the North London club are now beginning to lose patience with the Spanish coach.

The Arsenal fans now calling for Mikel Arteta to be sacked

The majority of Arsenal fans are likely still supportive of Arteta, and would want to see him remain in the Emirates Stadium dugout.

However, at one stage this morning #ArtetaOut was trending on X, largely fuelled by Arsenal fans calling for the manager’s head.

One said: “We loaned in freaking washed Sterling! Absolutely unserious club. Edu is even worse than Arteta. Get these bozos out now! #ArtetaOut #EduOut.”

Another raged: “5 years and still got nothing #ArtetaOut.”

One supporter stated: “Enough is enough we want trophies.”

Another claimed: “#ArtetaOut Brigade is up and rising! What a coward coach he has proven to be. Even Jose plays better football.”

One added: “Arteta is in debt to us as a club. He is not a legend and had no manager experience, but we gave him the platform to learn on the job with unlimited time, money and backing. And he has failed to reward your patience and support. You’ve been conned. Time for change #ArtetaOut.”

What Arteta must do after Arsenal fan backlash

Arteta needs to inspire an immediate response from his team. He can only do this by sticking to his principles and finding a way to inspire his players on the training pitch.

Whilst the Arsenal fans already asking for him to be sacked are almost certainly a minority, the dissatisfaction and disenchantment with his management will quickly spread throughout the fanbase if form doesn’t improve.

Arsenal’s big players have been told to step up. They now need to play both for their Premier League title hopes and their manager’s future.
