Arsenal have finally lifted the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta’s side finished the season with a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace in a game that didn’t really matter. However, the victory heightened the joy of the most anticipated moment of the evening.

Sunday was Arsenal’s coronation day as champions of England, and millions of Arsenal fans waited for Martin Odegaard to lift the Premier League title.

Before that, however, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish had a request, but it didn’t really work.

What Steve Parish told Arsenal fans before the Gunners were awarded the Premier League trophy

The away end at Selhurst Park had a party like never before on Sunday.

Thousands of Arsenal fans sang their hearts out from before the game even began, and the noise increased to a whole new level at the end of the game.

Supporters were desperate to see Arteta and his men lift the trophy, but before that could happen, Crystal Palace had other plans.

The Eagles had planned to present their end-of-season awards and also bid farewell to Oliver Glasner, who will leave the club this summer.

In order to make that happen, Palace chairman Parish tried to get the away supporters to give them some time.

“Congratulations to Arsenal for winning the league, but give us five minutes, will you?” he said, as per Ed Aarons.

Arsenal supporters only heard the first half of that sentence and increased their noise levels even more.

An amused Parish then said on the microphone: “That didn’t work, did it?”

Arsenal fans will never forget what happened at Selhurst Park

The scenes in front of the away end at Selhurst Park were incredible to see for Arsenal fans.

Odegaard lifted the Premier League title after 22 long years, and every single player then took turns to celebrate with the trophy.

Arteta also lifted the title, and he was then thrown up in the air by the Arsenal players as they showed their appreciation for the work he has done.

Over 3,000 Arsenal supporters got to witness these scenes live at Selhurst Park, and we are sure they will never forget this moment.
