Arsenal’s unbeaten run in this season’s Champions League came to an end after Inter Milan beat them 1-0.

The Gunners have been on a difficult run in the Premier League. They haven’t won any of their last three fixtures, but many were hoping that their Champions League form will help them get over the line.

Arsenal and Inter played out a very close game, and an argument can even be made that the North Londoners were actually the better side.

However, it was Simone Inzaghi who got the last laugh as his side beat Mikel Arteta’s men thanks to a penalty from Hakan Calhanoglou.

Mikel Arteta’s message to Arsenal players after Inter Milan beat them

Arsenal have every right to feel hard done by after losing to Inter Milan in the Champions League.

The Gunners started slow, but after they weathered the initial storm, they dominated the game until the full-time whistle.

Arteta’s men pinned Inter back in their own half and did everything they could to penetrate their backline. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be at the San Siro.

The Arsenal manager is disappointed with the result, but he is really proud of the way his players performed against one of the toughest teams in the world.

In his press conference, Arteta claimed that he had never seen a performance as good as the one on Wednesday night from his Arsenal team in Europe before.

He also revealed what he told his players in the dressing room at the San Siro after the game.

“If we play the way we play, we‘ll have a big chance to win against Chelsea,” Arteta said, as per Arsenal.com.

“That‘s the way we have to go. I told them that I’m proud of them. I haven‘t seen them play in Europe in the manner that we have today.

“We are disappointed because we didn’t get what we wanted out of the game, that’s for sure.”

Arsenal have one big advantage against Chelsea

Arsenal’s difficult fixture schedule away from home continues.

The Gunners have already faced Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Newcastle United on the road in the Premier League, while they have travelled to Italy twice for games against Atalanta and Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Up next is another away trip to Chelsea, and Arsenal will finally have one advantage that they haven’t had for over two months – Martin Odegaard.

The Norwegian made his long-awaited return against Inter. He only played the final few minutes of the game, but we expect him to play a much bigger role against Chelsea.

If Odegaard can start against the Blues, we think Arsenal will be too strong for them.
