At such a tender age, it’s difficult to predict how their future at Arsenal could look however, Arteta seems to have a clear plan in place for the teenagers.
The Mirror’s Ryan Taylor explained that the manager has all-but ruled out a loan for the duo, due to their performances in pre-season.
It’s said that the pair made a “real impression” on Arteta over the summer and are poised to be a part of the boss’ first-team plans for the year ahead.
It’s clear that the Spaniard is hoping to take both Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri to the top with Arsenal, with their futures looking to be firmly in North London.

Given how highly contested minutes are at Arsenal due to the squad’s progression over the past few years, it’s a statement to see the two 17-year-old’s in and around the first team.
Fans are more than aware of Nwaneri’s potency, as the teen has an outstanding record at international level, scoring 15 goals in only 28 caps for England U17.

For Lewis-Skelly, the excitement is certainly growing as the defensive midfielder has shown his maturity and innate reading of the game during pre-season.
Most recently, the starlet featured in the Emirates Cup alongside Nwaneri, where he took to Instagram after the game to describe the experience as “incredible”.
It would be refreshing to see the highly-rated pair get a real shot at impressing over the year ahead, with the future looking to be bright once more for those at Hale End.
