Rafael Leao seems to have been on the radar of Arsenal for years now and going into this summer, it remains a talking point.

Leao has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal once again and it feels like this could be the summer he may finally land in England.

Of course, whether or not it is Arsenal who make their move, remains to be seen.

The Gunners want a number of left wingers and Leao will be one name among many.

However, Leao himself seems open to the idea and has recently admitted that he likes both Arsenal and London in general.

Rafael Leao’s opinion on London and Arsenal

Arsenal are in the lucky position of being in London and there is no questioning that this can have a sway on players coming from abroad.

For Leao, it’s a place he’s been plenty of times and during an interview on TikTok for the Cernucci Podcast, he admitted he was a fan of both.

“I like Arsenal also. I used to go to London. I like the city, I have friends there, my family yeah, if we have days off I like to go there,” Leao said.

Has the ship sailed with Rafael Leao and Arsenal?

There is no doubting that Leao has plenty of ability and you don’t play at the top level in Europe without being a quality player.

However, now 27, it feels in a way like Leao might have missed his best chance of signing for a big club like Arsenal.

Over the years, he’s always done well in fits and starts but as the stats show, nine, eight and nine goals in the past three seasons show that he’s never quite kicked on to the heights some expected.

Right now, it feels like there are other wingers out there who could be of better value for the Gunners.
