Arsenal have been without captain Martin Odegaard for some time, but he is now edging closer to a return.

Odegaard picked up an ankle injury while playing for Norway during the September international break, and he has been a huge miss for Mikel Arteta.

The Arsenal captain recently revealed that he is getting closer to a return to action after nearly two months out, and this now appears to be the case.

Arsenal have been handed a hugely positive update over Odegaard, and Arteta has finally given a timeframe over when we can expect to see him.

Mikel Arteta reveals when Martin Odegaard could return for Arsenal

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s EFL Cup clash with Preston North End, Arteta revealed that Odegaard looks likely to return to action before the November international break.

“He’s been on the grass for a few weeks but there is still a few boxes to tick,” Arteta stated of Odegaard.

“Hopefully he’ll be back before the international break.”

Arsenal have four games remaining before the break in mid-November, and it appears that Odegaard could appear in one of these.

When will Martin Odegaard return from injury?

If Odegaard does indeed return before the November break, he could appear in at least one of the following fixtures:

We will see Odegaard very soon, but these are tough situations to throw him into, and it is likely that he will be eased in with substitute appearances before potentially starting after the break.

Norway manager Stale Solbakken recently claimed that he would like to call up Odegaard for Norway’s matches during the next break, but Arsenal would likely be furious given that he picked up his injury during international duty.

Odegaard’s first start could therefore come after the break against Nottingham Forest, barring any setbacks in his recovery.
