Sandro Tonali is one of the names on Arsenal’s wishlist this summer but if reports are anything to go by recently, Tottenham will be a competitor for that deal.
Tonali has been outstanding with Newcastle ever since he signed and he’s among a number of players in the Northeast who are expected to depart this summer.
For Arsenal, it will be a case of finding the huge sum of around £100m to tempt the Magpies to sell him.
However, should the Gunners manage to strike a deal with Newcastle, then there is some promising news for Mikel Arteta.

Sandro Tonali would choose Arsenal over Tottenham
Tonali clearly has a choice of big teams this summer and it could well come down to who pays the most money.
Arsenal, of course, will fancy themselves as favourites given their massive success last season but with Spurs growing under Robert De Zerbi and Manchester City also watching on, he has options.
Nevertheless, The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones has reported that while Tonali is open to joining Spurs if he has to, it is indeed Arsenal who are his preference, if a deal can be struck.

Tonali would join a midfield at The Emirates which already includes the likes of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Still, most Arsenal fans will acknowledge that a new midfielder of quality is needed.
Tonali brings that to the Gunners should he sign and while the outlay of close to £100m might well be a big sum to shell out, it could be the difference for Arsenal in terms of winning in Europe.
