Julian Alvarez is being linked with Arsenal yet again but this time, the door could be well and truly open for the Gunners.
Alvarez is a long-term target for both Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta and after seeing him the other night for Argentina, it’s clear why.
The former Man City man scored a rocket to send his country into the semi-finals of the World Cup and with Atletico Madrid open to selling for the right price, Arsenal fans might well feel excited.
Now, there could be even more cause for excitement as Atletico make their stance known to other clubs in La Liga.

The signing of Julian Alvarez has been considered by many a bit of a dream scenario this summer.
The likes of Morgan Rogers and another midfield player have seemed like the priority, so if Arsenal can get those deals done and sign Alvarez, it would be a remarkable window.
Now, though, it looks like there could be a chance.
According to The Independent, Atletico Madrid are now making it clear to both Real Madrid and Barcelona that they do not want to sell him to either club.
This has come about with knowledge of Alvarez openly preferring a move to one of those clubs, while both Real and Barca have tried to publicly unsettle him.
However, that has now backfired, with Atletico putting out a number of social media posts hinting that they are unhappy with the behaviour of their rivals.
Interestingly, it’s claimed that Alvarez is indeed open to a move to Arsenal. And with Atletico clearly not playing ball with the Spanish clubs, it could be Arsenal’s chance to strike.
With this one looking dead in the water at one point, it now looks like Arsenal could do the unthinkable and add yet another world-class forward to the ranks.
