Wenger contract
According to the Telegraph, manager Arsene Wenger is waiting to agree to a restructuring at the club with the Arsenal hierarchy. It seems a compromise is required, as the club want to hire a Sporting Director. Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis has told fans that every area of operation is under review and made it clear the club are not ‘where we want to be’.
Wenger has admitted he wants to stay, however, there are final issues to resolve. It seems he is less happy with change and wants to improve and be better. With Wenger adding “that is evolution, not change”.
Benfica keeper
Arsenal are reportedly watching Benfica keeper Ederson, as a potential replacement for Petr Cech. The 23-year-old Brazilian keeper has played well this season and would be seen as a good replacement.
Tolisso wants Premier move
Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso has hinted he would love to play in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has been in excellent form this season, with rumours Arsenal are looking at the player
Schalke may sell
According to reports, German side Schalke may sell Leon Goretzka this summer, as the youngster continues to stall on signing a new contract. The 22-year-old midfielder, dubbed a future world great, would be available for around £21m or the club risk losing him for free a year later. Goretzka can play across the midfield and would be an excellent acquisition for the club.
More transfers
According to the Sun, Arsenal are interested in Kingsley Coman. The French winger is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Serie A side Juventus. Bayern have an option to buy the player for £17m, however, if Coman decides to join another club he is able to reject the German club. The player is rated at £43m.
Martinez wanted
According to third choice Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, Arsene Wenger has told him he wants him to stay at the club and does not want to sell him. Wenger has told the goalkeepers he has three incredible ‘keepers at the club and that anyone of them can start. Martinez is currently in the first team due to injuries to Petr Cech and David Ospina and hopes to perform well and stake his claim to be number one at the club.
Loans
Birmingham city boss Gianfranco Zola has expressed his desire to bring Krystian Bielik back to the club next season for a season loan.
One player not impressing on loan is Chuba Akpom who is not endearing himself to the Brighton faithful. Brighton fans feel he is half jogging, putting in zero effort and are not interested in him playing for the Seagulls. Not a good way to impress your parent club.
Crystal Palace struggling
Some news on Monday’s opponents Crystal Palace who have nine first team played injured and ruled out of the Premier League encounter.
No news currently on Arsenal’s injuries on who’s fit and who’s not.
