Christian Norgaard finally made his full debut for Arsenal against Port Vale.
The Dane was a surprise signing in the summer. He was brought in from Brentford to replace Jorginho in the middle of Mikel Arteta’s park.
Norgaard featured for Arsenal in pre-season, but he missed the first four games of the campaign due to injury.
Now, he is fit, and it looks like he has impressed his teammates at Arsenal.
William Saliba describes Christian Norgaard using just one word
William Saliba has played with and against some great players over the years.
The France international is one of the best defenders in world football, and he knows a good player when he sees one.
Christian Norgaard was a key player for Brentford during his time there, but he was never really regarded as an elite midfielder.
Now, following his move to Arsenal, it is likely that he will get more recognition, especially after people listen to what Saliba has just said about him.
In an interview on Sky Sports, the Arsenal defender was asked to describe Norgaard using just one word.
He said: “Class!
“Every time we played against Brentford, he was so, so good.”
Christian Norgaard’s stats vs Port Vale are very impressive
Norgaard started for Arsenal at the base of the midfield against Port Vale in the Carabao Cup.
The 31-year-old had a solid game. He was good on the ball, always made himself available for a pass, and worked very hard throughout the game.
Norgaard had 100 touches of the ball and completed 81 of his 89 attempted passes, thus maintaining an excellent 90 per cent passing accuracy.
He created one chance, made two clearances, a tackle and an interception, and looked at home in the middle of the park (Sofascore).
Martin Zubimendi will be the first-choice number six at Arsenal, but Norgaard proved on Wednesday night that he is more than good enough to fill in whenever required.
