William Saliba says Declan Rice is Player of the Season
William Saliba has made it very clear that Declan Rice was the real Premier League Player of the Season.
At the weekend, Rice finally got his hands on the Premier League title following a magnificent campaign in the league.
The midfielder has played a key role in securing the Gunners’ first league title in 22 years, but his achievement did not earn him recognition from the Premier League.
Instead, Bruno Fernandes was named the Premier League Player of the Season after he broke Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s assist record.
🏆 Which Arsenal player is most deserving of this Premier League trophy?
But it’s clear that Arsenal players are adamant that it should have been their teammate who won the award ahead of the Portuguese star.
Whilst Rice had the Premier League title in the dressing room, Saliba told the Arsenal cameras: “He’s the man, he’s the man. He’s the Player of the Season, Dec is the Player of the Season!”
Rice played more minutes than any other Arsenal outfield player this season, showing the way in which he has carried the team to the title.
There is still the PFA Player of the Season to win, and surely Rice will be recognised by his fellow pros for his efforts this term.
