William Saliba has become one of the leaders at Arsenal.
The Frenchman has been at the club since 2019, but it was only at the start of the 2022/23 season that he got to make his competitive debut for the club.
Saliba has been magnificent since. He is a fan favourite at the Emirates and has become one of the best defenders on the planet.
What sets Saliba apart from most players is not just his quality on the pitch but his elite mentality as well. He has proven it again now with his assessment of Arsenal’s season so far.
William Saliba delivers verdict on Arsenal’s start to the season
Arsenal have had a decent start to the season so far.
The Gunners are unbeaten in all competitions and are currently just a point off the top of the Premier League table. They are in a decent position in the Champions League too, having won one and drawn their other game.
In the two Premier League games that Arsenal have dropped points in this season, they were reduced to 10 men while leading. They were both really poor decisions.
That can be used as an excuse to explain why Arsenal haven’t won every game, but Saliba and his elite mindset are not going in that direction.
Arsenal’s social handle messaged some of their players to ask for their verdict on how the Gunners’ season has transpired so far.
Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Jurrien Timber delivered positive verdicts, but Saliba was really blunt with his response.
“Not bad, can do much better,” he said.

Arsenal fans react to Saliba’s assessment
Saliba’s verdict on Arsenal’s season so far shows that he is a winner.
The Frenchman is always striving to be the best – individually and as a team at Arsenal. He won’t be happy with anything less.
Arsenal fans already love Saliba, but they are all hailing the defender’s verdict. One fan went as far as calling it the ‘quote of the year’ in the comments below Arsenal’s Instagram post.
Another Gooner replied: “Elite mindset from Saliba!”
“Saliba! He knows we need that Premier League title this season,” wrote another.
Another fan said: “Saliba, a man on a mission!”
“Saliba’s mentality will win us the title,” commented another.
