Bukayo Saka’s injury problems have seriously disrupted his season at Arsenal.

Over the last 18 months, the winger has struggled with multiple issues, and since December 2024 alone, he has missed 36 games across 167 days.

That lack of continuity has affected his form, even when he has been available to play, and it has also made life much more difficult for Arsenal in key moments of the season.

William Saliba has now opened up about just how big a miss Saka has been.

William Saliba says Arsenal have missed Bukayo Saka this season

Bukayo Saka has been one of Arsenal’s most important players for several years now, and his absence has been felt across the pitch.

The England international offers creativity, consistency and composure in the final third, all of which have been lacking at times this season.

Without him, Arsenal have often struggled to break down defences and create clear-cut chances.

Saliba made it clear that Saka’s influence goes beyond just numbers, highlighting his overall impact on the team.

He also pointed out the calmness Saka brings when he is on the pitch, something that cannot be easily replaced.

Saliba said on Men in Blazers: “We miss him. He’s a key player for us, and we hope to have him back soon because we need him now.

“I see him every day; he’s doing his rehab. I don’t know when he will be back, but I think it’s positive that he will be back soon, hopefully.

“He brings calmness. When we have him on the pitch, we’re a much better team, for sure.”

Bukayo Saka is back for Arsenal

There is finally some good news for Arsenal fans, as Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Saka is expected to be in the squad for the upcoming game against Newcastle United.

The academy graduate’s return could not have come at a better time, as Arsenal are entering the most important phase of the season.

With five games left in the Premier League, every match is crucial in the title race against Manchester City, who are level on points and goal difference with the Gunners.

Saka remains Arsenal’s most important attacker by some distance. His ability to create and deliver in big moments sets him apart, and when he is at his best, he is almost impossible to stop.

If Saka can hit the ground running after his return, Arsenal’s chances of winning the title will increase significantly.
