Arsenal will travel to face Inter Milan in a Champions League clash on Wednesday evening.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to see his Arsenal side get back to winning ways against the Italian outfit.

The Gunners were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United in their Premier League outing on Saturday. This result dealt a hefty blow to the North London club’s title-winning ambitions.

Arsenal have been warned that their big players now need to step up if they are to stand any chance of being crowned champions this time around.

William Saliba is one of the Gunners’ key figures, and he is clearly determined to turn things around.

Arsenal star William Saliba sends message to Inter Milan

The French centre-back has been a reliable presence in the heart of the Arsenal rearguard for some time, and leads by example on the pitch.

The 23-year-old has now sent out a rallying cry, urging his Arsenal teammates to produce a positive response to their recent defeat when they meet Inter Milan.

As quoted by the official Arsenal website, and speaking in the wake of the loss at St James’ Park, Saliba said: “Next week we have two big games to come back with the win. I think we will do it if we give everything.

“[Inter is] a big game, if we win we have the confidence back and we have to do it. We all want to play big games like these.”

Saliba has now admitted that confidence is low in the Arsenal dressing room, as he has stated that they need to regain their self-belief. That will only come with wins, though.

Arsenal need Champions League form to provide Premier League boost

Saturday’s defeat means that Arsenal have now gone three games without a win in the Premier League, having also dropped points against Liverpool and Bournemouth.

However, the Gunners have fared better in the Champions League so far this season. Arsenal remain unbeaten in Europe’s elite club competition, having recorded a draw against Atalanta, before overcoming both PSG and Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta has been encouraged to make changes to his team for Wednesday’s fixture, as it is vital that his side rediscovers the spark that they have been lacking in recent outings.

The Gunners desperately need a positive result and performance against the Serie A giants, and then need to channel the boost that such a win would provide into Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Chelsea.
