The World Cup is in full swing, and we’ve had some cracking games so far.

South Korea’s 2-2 draw against the Czech Republic early on was entertaining, and more recently, the Netherlands had an enthralling clash against Japan.

But perhaps the story of the tournament up to now happened on Monday, when Spain were held to a goalless draw by Cape Verde.

The nation, which is located off the west coast of Senegal, has a population of just 530,000, so it was a massive upset to gain a point against the European champions.

That said, one of their standout performers has become an overnight superstar and has now announced that he’s an Arsenal supporter.

Cape Verde goalkeeper announces he’s an Arsenal fan

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha (Josimar Dias) has become a sensation after his remarkable performance against Spain.

The 40-year-old was awarded Man of the Match, having made a whopping seven saves, with six of them coming from inside the box.

As a result, Vozinha’s fame has grown dramatically, going from around 50,000 followers to 7.4m and counting on Instagram.

Now, speaking to Men In Blazers, the World Cup hero has just revealed that he’s an Arsenal fan and loves David Raya.

“I am a fan of Arsenal,” Vozinha stated.

“Raya also was on the bench and he’s a great goalkeeper. Rodri played… Manchester City… one of the best teams in the world.

“But when we started, I think we forgot that. The game was very hard and very difficult. But we are there to give our best.

“We know they have a lot of quality, but this is a key for us and a key to make a good game.”
