Noni Madueke is the latest Arsenal player to suffer an injury.
The winger started for Thomas Tuchel’s England in their friendly against Uruguay, and he was on the receiving end of a strong tackle.
Madueke went down in pain and had to come off. There was some confusion at the time regarding the type of injury he suffered, but it now seems clear that he has hurt his knee.
A worrying video of the Arsenal winger limping has now emerged.
Be honest. How worried are you about Arsenal’s treble chances after Noni Madueke’s injury?
Noni Madueke spotted wearing a knee brace after injury in the England game
Noni Madueke has become a very important player for Arsenal.
A lot was said when the Gunners first signed the attacker from Chelsea, but he won the fans over with his performances in the famous red and white.
There have even been calls for Mikel Arteta to drop Bukayo Saka and start Madueke instead, which shows just how highly he is rated.
That is why Arsenal would have been really worried when they saw the Englishman go down with an injury at Wembley on Friday night.
What’s even more concerning is a video that has emerged.
Dan Sheldon of The Athletic posted footage on X of Madueke limping through the mixed zone with a brace on his left knee.
We really hope that it is just precautionary, but it does not look good.
Noni Madueke’s injury is a big blow for Arsenal
Arsenal cannot afford injuries at this stage of the season.
William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard, Eberechi Eze, Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard have all stayed back in London due to injuries during the international break, which is not ideal at all.
Now, Madueke could join that list, and that is a problem for Arsenal because Saka has not been at his best this season.
Is Max Dowman the obvious replacement for Noni Madueke at Arsenal if he is ruled out?
Arteta will have to turn to young Max Dowman as the alternate option on the right wing if Madueke’s injury rules him out for a period of time.
The teenager is an exceptional talent, but only time will tell if throwing him into the side in the business end of the season is a wise move.
However, Arteta may have no choice.
