Salford City manager Karl Robinson has named Arsenal star Declan Rice as one of the toughest players he has ever faced.

The 24-year-old joined the Gunners last summer and has been unbelievable for us so far. He is a phenomenal player, and almost everyone who has watched him play is in awe of him.

Karl Robinson has been the manager of Salford City for a little over a month now, but his last job was as Sam Allardyce‘s assistant at Leeds United.

Big Sam took charge of the Whites for four games, where he was tasked with the near-impossible job of helping them avoid relegation.

Despite his years of experience, Allardyce couldn’t save Leeds, but Robinson got the opportunity to witness just how good Declan Rice is.

The Arsenal midfielder was still at West Ham at the time, and he helped the Irons beat Leeds 3-1. He scored his side’s equaliser in that game.

Robinson, who was watching him from the touchline, was beyond impressed and has now named him as one of the toughest players he has ever come up against. He went as far as saying that watching Rice is similar to seeing Didier Drogba run past you.

After name-dropping Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden, Robinson told The Telegraph: “Then seeing Declan Rice up close. The power he had, the calmness.

“We went man-to-man against him and he just cruised. There are moments on the touchline when you just go wow – like when Didier Drogba runs past you.”

It was almost a guarantee that Declan Rice would be a huge hit at Arsenal.

The Englishman cost an absolute fortune, but the fact that nobody has even mentioned his big price tag tells you just how good he has been this term.

There is a lot of debate on social media over who Arsenal’s best player has been this season. Rice is definitely right up there along with Gabriel Magalhaes.

If the 24-year-old can produce his best form from now until the end of the season, there’s every chance we can win the Premier League and the Champions League.
