The January transfer window is still several weeks away, but Arsenal are already being linked with moves to sign several players.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have done a magnificent job on the market in recent years. Almost every signing they have made has been a success, which is just great to see.

However, there are a few players Arsenal have missed out on in the last few windows who have gone elsewhere and have been disastrous.

Mykhaylo Mudryk is one such player, and we really think Arsenal dodged a bullet there. He has been awful at Chelsea.

Now, Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign another player, and there is a risk that he could be just as poor as Mudryk if he moves to England.

Arsenal target Georgiy Sudakov could be another Mykhaylo Mudryk

Tutto Juve claim that Arsenal are battling Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Georgiy Sudakov.

The Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder is one of the most talented players coming out of Ukraine, and he has been linked with a number of big clubs.

Arsenal have been interested in Sudakov for several months now, and those links have emerged again as we head closer to the January transfer window.

It is very likely that the 22-year-old will be on the move in 2025. Sudakov has a €150 million release clause in his contract, which equates to around £125 million (Fabrizio Romano, but we’re sure he will be available for much less.

However, Arsenal know just how difficult it is to negotiate with Shakhtar – they learnt that the hard way when they tried to sign Mudryk.

The Chelsea man’s struggles since moving to England should act as a warning to Arsenal. The gap in quality and intensity between Ukraine’s first division and the Premier League is ginormous.

Mudryk was very highly rated in his country before Chelsea signed him, but since his move, he has scored seven goals in 66 appearances, which is a shocking record.

Sudakov is being talked about in the same way now and will perhaps cost just as much as his compatriot did when he went to Chelsea.

Arsenal should be very careful if Arteta’s interest in Sudakov is serious – he is unproven, has very little experience and could easily turn out to be another Mudryk.

Mudryk has already warned Sudakov about England move

Sudakov is around 18 months younger than Mudryk and looks up to him.

The Shakhtar Donetsk star is often in communication with his compatriot, asking him questions about the Premier League because it’s his dream to move to England too.

However, back in May, Mudryk told Sudakov that he wasn’t ready for a big move to the Premier League yet. The midfielder did not agree with the Chelsea man, but this is something that should be taken into account.

Sudakov could well go on and become a superstar in a big league, but we just think it’s too big of a risk for the Gunners to sign him for a lot of money.

Arsenal will have the chance to take a closer look at Sudakov when he comes to the Emirates in the Champions League next week. That could be his audition in front of Arteta.
