Arsenal are trying desperately to make room in their squad for one more attacking addition this summer.
Fabio Vieira is the subject of interest in the Premier League and German side Stuttgart as his Arsenal career draws to a close.
Fulham are interested in a double deal from Arsenal as they look to sign both Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
If Andrea Berta can get some of these players off the books, the Gunners will look to launch a move for another forward option, however, one target draws comparisons with Emile Smith Rowe – a player let go by Mikel Arteta last season.

Eberechi Eze will not be first choice in any position at Arsenal this season
Arsenal are ready to bid for Eberechi Eze before the transfer deadline with Arteta keen on adding some creativity to his front line.
Eze has been a consistent performer for Crystal Palace over the last few seasons and is ready to make the next step in his career.
However, Eze may want to look at Smith Rowe’s departure as a warning before making any switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Smith Rowe was a player that has talent in abundance, an eye for goal and can create chances with his intelligence and vision.
Eze possesses all of those attributes, however, his position coming into the Arsenal team is yet to be made clear.
A huge reason behind Smith Rowe’s departure was that he simply did not fit into Arteta’s system – he wasn’t an out and out left winger and struggled playing in the deeper number eight role.

Eze will have a similar problem, the Gunners do not really play with a central playmaker, Martin Odegaard drifts out to the right and Declan Rice in the number eight role crashes into the box from deep.
Before making any transfer, Eze will need to consider whether he can adapt to Arteta’s style of play or face spending the majority of the season impacting games from the bench.
Eberechi Eze’s best position doesn’t exist at Arsenal
As mentioned, Eze has performed best in his career in the number ten position, just behind a striker or two, as the main focal point of attack.
His range of passing and ability to drive with the ball from deep has made him one of the Premier League’s best attacking weapons, but the position doesn’t exist within Arteta’s system.
| Eberechi Eze’s career by positions | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Attacking midfield | 142 | 35 | 21 |
| Left midfield | 47 | 12 | 6 |
| Central midfield | 43 | 9 | 3 |
| Left winger | 33 | 6 | 6 |
He would most likely take on a role at left wing at Arsenal, currently deployed by Gabriel Martinelli, however, Eze is not as effective in that position.
It is a decision both the club and player have to make before any transfer occurs this summer, otherwise the Gunners are not solving their problem.
