Arsenal signed Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in the summer transfer window.
Fans were hoping for big names before the start of the new season, and Andrea Berta definitely delivered that with the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze.
However, the best bargain has to be Mosquera, who was signed for just £13 million.
The Spaniard has been excellent for the Gunners every time he has played, and now, Berta is said to be eyeing another similar signing – Rodrigo Mendoza.
This is why Arsenal are interested in signing Rodrigo Mendoza!👀
Why Rodrigo Mendoza could be another Cristhian Mosquera-like signing for Arsenal
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Mendoza in one of the two transfer windows in 2026.
The Gunners have no problems with their midfield for a few more years, but their youngest player in the middle of the park, aside from Ethan Nwaneri, is 26 years old.
So, Berta is already thinking about the future, and Mendoza makes a lot of sense.

The 20-year-old, who is one of Spain’s rising stars, has been compared to Pedri by many, including the Barcelona midfielder himself.
Mendoza and Cristhian Mosquera are teammates at U21s level, and like the Arsenal defender, he will be available for a bargain fee – £17.5 million.
Furthermore, nobody outside Spain had really heard of Mosquera when Arsenal signed him, but he has proved to be an incredible signing.
Mendoza has all the qualities to be the same, and the two Spanish U21 internationals could become superstars in the future together if Arsenal sign the Elche star.
Should Arsenal sign Rodrigo Mendoza?
Arsenal could embarrass Real Madrid once again by signing Rodrigo Mendoza
Arsenal have got the better of Real Madrid on and off the pitch in recent months.
The Gunners beat the Galacticos both home and away in the Champions League last season, with an aggregate score of 5-1.
Then, Arsenal convinced Martin Zubimendi to join them instead of Real Madrid, and that has proved to be an incredible move.
To add to that, Real Madrid were interested in Mosquera as well, but once again, Mikel Arteta’s side ended up winning that battle.
Now, Xabi Alonso’s side are among the clubs monitoring Mendoza, but Arsenal can embarrass the Spanish giants once again by landing him.
