Well that was much better wasn’t it. After a few weeks of mediocre football, a return to The Emirates proved to be the best thing for Arsenal as we ran to a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Moving back to a four-man defence and a three-man midfield really seemed to help us going forward and here’s who impressed in the switch:
First up is Alex Iwobi. Since that news broke about him going to that party a couple of weeks ago, he has responded very well against Chelsea and Bournemouth.
On Saturday he impressed yet again in his link up play in and around the box was very sound as he was involved in the build up to Lacazette’s goal and moved well off the ball and almost got past the Palace defence in the second half.
He then followed up last weeks’ assist with a very well taken goal in a crowded box to continue his good form.
Next is Mesut Ozil. Returning after a couple of games out, he showed just how invaluable he is. Playing in somewhat of a luxury status, Ozil floated around the attacking third making some great passes and moves which were top off when he start the passing move for Lacazette’s goal which he assisted.
The man of the match from Saturday though was Nacho Monreal. Coming back into the side after about a month out, he had a very productive performance.
Filling in at left back instead of a centre back in a three, he started things of with a bullet header which signified his return.
He then showed how good he is with the ball on the floor as he managed to get to the byline before knocking the ball accurately through a crowded box for Iwobi to tuck home.
He completed his rout from another corner soon after, his movement was good enough to see him lose his marker at the back post before knocking the ball across goal for Laurent Koscielny to bundle home.
