Olivier Giroud left London in 2021 for AC Milan, yet two years since leaving the Premier League, the former Arsenal striker is seemingly setting his sights on a return to the English capital.
According to the Sun, the 36-year-old attacker is keen to sign for a London-based club in the summer, with Giroud’s contract with Milan due to expire at the end of this season as Giroud looks to return to England to end his career.
Giroud’s relationship with Arsenal is an unusual one, to say the least. Despite spending six years in north London, the forward’s move to Chelsea and subsequent goal in the UEFA Europa League final in 2019 dramatically damaged the striker’s reputation amongst supporters.
However, four years on from that fateful night in Baku, Giroud could become an ideal signing for Arsenal as the Gunners look to sign a third-choice striker, something that could now become a possibility with the Frenchman keen on moving back to London.
Arsenal could look to re-sign Giroud amid London revelation

Arsenal’s striking options have been impressive this season with Gabriel Jesus the main man upfront with Eddie Nketiah and now Leandro Trossard providing good depth for the Brazilian international. Yet with UEFA Champions League set to return next season, a third definitive option could be needed for Mikel Arteta.
Indeed, whilst many supporters want Folarin Balogun to fill this role, there is a next-to-no chance that the England youth international will accept being a third-choice option off the back of the season the forward is currently having out on loan with Stade de Reims, with a permanent transfer likely for the youngster.

As a result, a striker who is in the final years of his career and willing to sit out most games could be perfect for Arsenal, and with Giroud setting his sights on a return to England, the Gunners could not find a more suited option for this unique role than France’s all-time leading goalscorer.
