Sometimes in football, it’s hard to keep on improving a squad, especially when that squad is a winning one.

In just a few weeks’ time, we could be looking at this Arsenal squad as one of the greatest we’ve ever seen, with a Premier League and Champions League double on the cards.

If that happens, it makes it hard to imagine just how things can be improved. However, as we’ve seen with Man City over the years and Man United under Sir Alex Ferguson, the best teams never stand still.

Now, with Arsenal looking to sign a new left-winger if the right man is available, the Gunners have potentially identified one player who takes them to completely new levels.

So many good celebrations at Arsenal, but whose is the best?

Arsenal’s signing of Bradley Barcola will bring even more success

Bradley Barcola is being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool and when it comes to potential signings who are realistic, he is right up there.

For all the good Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have done, Arsenal need to try and match the quality of Bukayo Saka on the opposite side.

If they can land Barcola – who could cost north of £60m – it goes a long way to them achieving that goal.

In a PSG team full of exciting wingers and where rotation is the name of the game for Luis Enrique, Barcola has still contributed heavily this season.

The 23-year-old has earned a call-up to the French squad for the World Cup and it’s little surprise, given he’s scored 12 goals and contributed another five assists for PSG in all competitions this term.

Barcola, though, is believed to be keen on exploring a move to England. And while there are suggestions Liverpool are a preferred destination, if Arsenal are champions, then it gives them an edge.

For Arsenal to go to that next level, they simply have to keep evolving. Barcola is among a few wingers – in terms of realistic targets – who brings that next level with him.

Indeed, Luis Enrique has described Barcola as a player who ‘incarnates the present and the future’ at PSG.

“It is a clear bet from the club when we go out and find such a young player, a youth international, with a big personality and the quality to burst out. He has quite a few minutes for being in a team like ours. He incarnates the present and the future.

“On Saturday evening, he was superb, the most decisive player in one-on-one situations and he scored an exceptional goal too. He had a great match; there is nothing new regarding Bradley. I am very happy for him,” Enrique said earlier this season.

Clearly, this is a player who has everything and Arsenal have to get involved if he is available.
