Arsenal have to ignore Bradley Barcola even though PSG will sell him; Berta’s focus should be elsewhere

Of all the left-sided attacking players linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, PSG’s Bradley Barcola is certainly among the most exciting.

After playing a key role in France’s run to the World Cup semi-finals again, Barcola has put himself in the shop window.

PSG are, according to several reports, open to selling the 23-year-old but they want a mammoth fee, using the fees for Morgan Rogers and Elliott Anderson this summer as a benchmark.

Naturally, Barcola’s availability will be of interest to Arsenal.

But right now, any focus on the Frenchman needs to be put to one side, with only man needing to be at the centre of Arsenal’s plans right now.

Arsenal have to go all in on Vinicius Jr despite Bradley Barcola’s availability

We all know Andrea Berta likes to have a number of plates spinning in the transfer market before he swoops in to close any deals.

However, this has cost Arsenal once this summer with Morgan Rogers and with strong links now emerging towards Vinicius Jr, the Gunners won’t want to see it happen again.

That’s why on this occasion, despite Barcola being on the market, Berta needs to cast aside those spinning plates and go all in on making sure Vinicius is signed.

Of course, there is a long way to go in getting that deal done and it relies on Madrid accepting a fee and Vinicius himself agreeing to terms.

Nevertheless, this sort of signing doesn’t come along all too often. Yes, Barcola himself would be a fine piece of business for the Gunners.

But when you compare both Barcola and Vinicius, you’re looking at night and day in terms of what they will immediately bring to the table.

If Vinicius is available and somehow slips the net, then Berta will once again be under the microscope.

For now, then, it has to be all systems go on the Brazilian and any notion of signing Barcola needs to be on the backburner.
