Nico Paz is expected to return to Real Madrid this summer and become available for just £52 million, which could be a bargain for Arsenal.
Arsenal have transfer-listed Martin Odegaard following what was a rather disappointing campaign from him, but also one in which he struggled with injury.
Explain your answer: Keep or sell Martin Odegaard?
Mikel Arteta could quickly be on the hunt to replace the Norwegian captain now, and Paz is without doubt one of the best candidates.
There is a meeting scheduled for today between Madrid and Como, and Arsenal should be patiently waiting for the outcome.
Real Madrid want to sell Nico Paz for £52m
Real Madrid are ready to sell Nico Paz for £52 million after buying him back from Como this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Los Blancos are set to inform Como of their desire to trigger their buy-back clause and then make an attempt to sell him.
Speaking about the situation, Romano told his YouTube channel: “It’s the day of the meeting for Nico Paz. My information is that Real Madrid will communicate their intention to buy back the player.
“Bring back Nico Paz to Real Madrid, and find a solution, or they can reach an agreement to sell the player to Como in a completely new deal, a completely new structure.

“Otherwise, Nico Paz returns to Real Madrid, and they can consider a sale to a different club. So this is the direction for Nico Paz.
“Don’t forget that Nico Paz already signed a contract with Real Madrid, so the only club in control of the situation in this situation is Real Madrid, full stop.”
Nico Paz could be a proper upgrade on Martin Odegaard
Paz could be the perfect upgrade on Martin Odegaard this summer, following his sensational campaign in Serie A.
The 22-year-old managed 13 goals and eight assists in 40 matches for Como last season, as he fired them to Champions League qualification.
The Argentine midfielder also has impressive duel stats, ranking in the 47.5th percentile for duel% and 38.7th percentile for possession won.
His passing is not quite at the same level as Odegaard’s, but he still ranks highly, being in the 87.0th percentile for progressive passes and 69.0th percentile for key passes.
At just £52 million, when you consider the current state of the market, that could prove to be a serious bargain for the Gunners, and Andrea Berta should be making calls to make a deal happen.
