Manchester United will likely have a new manager by the time they face Arsenal.
The Red Devils sacked Ruben Amorim this week, and they are on the lookout for a new boss – either a caretaker until the end of the season or a permanent one.
As an Arsenal fan, sum up Ruben Amorim’s time at Man United in THREE words.
Arsenal will take on Manchester United in the Premier League on January 25, and regardless of who their manager is at the time, the Gunners will go into the game as favourites.
However, Gabriel Martinelli will be all fired up if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returns to the Old Trafford hot seat.
Gabriel Martinelli will have a point to prove if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer becomes the Manchester United manager
Solskjaer has been linked with a return to Manchester United.
The Norwegian, who is a legend at Old Trafford, previously took on the interim role at the club and then went on to land a permanent job.
Years later now, Solskjaer could get the interim job as Manchester United’s manager again, with Fabrizio Romano claiming on X that talks between the two parties are advancing.

For Arsenal fans, this potential appointment should not matter one bit, but Martinelli will have some added motivation to do well against Solskjaer’s United if he does get the job.
That’s because, back in January 2021, during a game between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates, the then-United boss aimed a dig at the Brazilian.
When Marcus Rashford had the ball out wide, Solskjaer, who was standing on the touchline, was seen pointing at Martinelli and saying that the Arsenal star ‘cannot defend’ and to take him on ‘whenever you like’. (Football London)
That game finished 0-0, but if Solskjaer gets the job and leads his side to face Arsenal at the Emirates, we’re sure Martinelli will want to have a say on the pitch.
Fill in the blank: Gabriel Martinelli is worth £__m to Arsenal…
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s record vs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United turning to Solskjaer to steady their ship would be a wise decision.
The Red Devils are sixth in the Premier League table, which doesn’t sound too bad, but they are just four points ahead of 14th-place Crystal Palace.
Solskjaer, who has been there and done a decent job in the past, could keep them in the European places, but if history is anything to go by, he doesn’t stand a chance against Arsenal.
That’s because the Norwegian has faced Mikel Arteta three times in the past and hasn’t won a single game. He lost the first two meetings 2-0 and 1-0 respectively before drawing 0-0 in the third.
It remains to be seen how the fourth game between the two managers will go, but it’s not certain to happen yet, as Manchester United have not made their final decision.
