Arsenal target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could be like the club’s next Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Although he is plying his trade in the Championship this season, the 25-year-old has still caught the eye of top flight clubs with his performances. Dewsbury-Hall has also already proven that he can shine at Premier League level, having been an established star at the King Power Stadium, prior to the club’s relegation last season.

He is a key player for Leicester City. He has previously been hailed as a “revelation”, whilst James Maddison has lauded Dewsbury-Hall as being “brilliant” in the past. As such, it is unsurprising that the Foxes are unwilling to let him go cheaply, and have put a £40 million price tag on the player, as reported by Sky Sports.

Dewsbury-Hall has been in fine form so far this season, playing a vital role in pushing Leicester City to the summit of the Championship table, where they currently hold a ten point lead over the chasing pack.

In 28 appearances in the second tier, Dewsbury-Hall has scored ten goals and provided nine assists. He is now flourishing as an attacking force, which seems to have caught the eye of Mikel Arteta.

Why Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall would be a better fit for Arsenal than Kai Havertz

As well as being a tidy player in possession, Dewsbury-Hall now looks to have mastered the art of timing late runs into the box from deep, allowing him to come onto the ball unmarked in dangerous positions and get shots off at goal.

This is the kind of move that Aaron Ramsey made his trademark in his heyday at the Emirates Stadium, when he shone alongside Arteta in the middle of the park. The Arsenal manager may well feel that Dewsbury-Hall could come in and fulfil a similar function for the north London club now.

Dewsbury-Hall is well-suited to the left-eight role in the Arsenal midfield, and has all the attributes required to slot in neatly alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.

Arsenal paid £65 million to sign Kai Havertz in the recent summer transfer window, with that position in mind. However, the German has so far failed to show that he can shine there on a consistent basis and has been the target of plenty of criticism. He has often looked like an awkward fit in the Gunners’ midfield trio.

Havertz is undoubtedly a more naturally gifted player than Dewsbury-Hall, but the Leicester City man could well prove a better fit for this specific role in the Arsenal team.
