Arsenal’s Hale End academy continues to produce players of the highest quality.
Jack Wilshere and Bukayo Saka are among the stand out names in recent years, whilst this season has also seen the emergence of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly into the Arsenal first-team squad.
Not all Arsenal academy players make it to the first team but do go on to have good careers elsewhere, Brooke Norton-Cuffy joined Genoa in the summer and Reuell Walters joined Luton Town.
Arsenal’s U18 side lost their FA Youth Cup quarter final at the Emirates Stadium 3-2 to Manchester United but fans were stunned by Max Dowman’s performance.
Marli Salmon also impressed Arsenal fans with his showing in defence and it seems that Hale End is continuing to produce a certain type of player for Mikel Arteta to utilise.

Arsenal’s Hale End producing players with one ‘incredible ability’
Arsenal’s academy graduates have integrated into the first team with ease and in the cases of Saka, Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, they have already become key elements of the side.
Witnessing Dowman in the FA Youth Cup gliding across the pitch and having the confidence with the ball at his feet, there was a striking similarity with the type of player Hale End is producing.
Youth Football Scout Ben Mattinson also highlighted the ‘incredible ability’ that these young stars are showing in being able to carry the ball over long distances and ride challenges to draw fouls.
It has been evident this season that both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are able to protect the ball even under the most intense pressure and get Arsenal through the lines and progressing up the pitch.
Saka is another Hale End star that uses his body to his advantage to protect the ball and none of the above have an overwhelming physical presence in terms of stature. The coaching at Hale End is exquisite.
Arsenal fans dream of a Hale End midfield three for Arsenal
Following Mattinson’s observation, Arsenal fans have now been dreaming of an incredible midfield trio in the future for the Gunners.
It would certainly give Arteta a great blend of control, technique and a willingness to work hard and win the ball back.
Given the incredible skill set of protecting the ball, the midfield trio would be a nightmare for the opposition to play against.
With Saka on the wing and potentially Salmon at the back, Arsenal could have half a team grown in their own footballing talent factory. What a prospect for Gunners supporters.
