Arsenal’s dream of signing Bradley Barcola has just become even more complicated because of Ruben Amorim

Arsenal are one of many clubs interested in signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Champions League winner is one of the most exciting wingers on the planet, and there is a chance he will leave this summer.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are preparing an €80 million (£69m) bid to sign Barcola this summer, but that fee may fall well short of PSG’s demands.

That could be because of what Ruben Amorim has just done.

Ruben Amorim signing Goncalo Ramos may make Arsenal’s Bradley Barcola deal more expensive

After his underwhelming stint at Manchester United, Amorim is back in management at AC Milan.

The Portuguese tactician is looking to have a big debut season at the Rossoneri, and he has made a huge move already.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Milan are about to sign Goncalo Ramos from PSG in a deal that could exceed €80 million, including add-ons.

That is a club record signing for the Italian club, and the implications of this deal could hurt Arsenal.

Bradley Barcola is a far superior player to Ramos for club and country, and his ceiling is significantly better as well. He is a couple of years younger too.

Having agreed to sell Ramos for €80 million, there’s simply no way PSG will accept a similar figure for Barcola this summer.

Hence, Arsenal may have to bid well over €100 million (£86.2m) to have any chance of signing Barcola, which complicates things.

It remains to be seen now if Andrea Berta will even attempt to get the Frenchman in the coming weeks.

How much is Bradley Barcola worth?

A selling club will always try to extract big money for one of their big talents, while the buying club will want to drive the price down as much as they can.

If Barcola does decide to leave PSG, the French champions are well within their rights to demand a fortune, especially after sealing an €80 million deal for Ramos.

However, CIES Football Observatory’s transfer valuation tool estimates Barcola’s current value to be just €76.8 million (£66.2m).

A big factor behind that valuation could be the fact that the winger is about to enter the final two years of his contract.

That makes Arsenal’s reported €80 million plan perfect, but whether they can get him for such a fee is a completely different story.
