Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke are two elite right-wing options for Arsenal.

The Hale End star is clearly the first choice at the club in that role, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

However, Madueke has raised the level of the Arsenal squad since his arrival, and that is no surprise to Saka whatsoever.

The Gunners are very thorough with their due diligence when they are looking to recruit a player, and it was no different in the summer.

When Madueke was viewed as a target, Mikel Arteta enquired about the winger, and one of the people he spoke to was Saka, according to the Evening Standard.

The Arsenal number seven is said to have given a ‘glowing reference’, and the way he ‘championed’ the signing made a difference.

Even personally, Saka was happy about his side signing a player in his position.

The report claims that the Englishman believed Madueke would make the Arsenal squad and himself better if he arrived in the summer.

That belief has now been vindicated as the former Chelsea man has made a big difference at the Emirates since joining the club.

Noni Madueke has made Mikel Arteta do the unthinkable at Arsenal

For many years at Arsenal, Saka was the main man, much more than he is now. That led to Arteta playing him in almost every single game.

There have been times when the Arsenal boss wouldn’t take him off even if the game was won, let alone when the Gunners were still fighting for the three points.

However, now that Madueke is available, Arteta did the unthinkable by taking Saka off against Bayern Munich when the score was 1-1.

That would’ve never happened before, and Madueke repaid his manager’s trust by scoring from the right wing to help Arsenal win.

Saka was right; Madueke has clearly improved the squad, and his presence now will push the Arsenal number seven to an even higher level.
