Yet again we’ve had to wait until the dying seconds for a win over Burnley. Thanks to Aaron Ramsey being bundled over and Alexis Sanchez, this will be a lot better than if we had a few minutes less of added time.
Petr Cech – 7.2
Despite Arsenal not really dominating the game Petr Cech didn’t have too much to do in goal. However, he did stop us from going behind on a two occasions with some great saves which turned out to win us the game.
Laurent Koscielny – 7.0
Koscielny done well yesterday but wasn’t troubled too much. If anything he was trying to help on the attacking front more than he needed to defend.
Shkodran Mustafi – 7.5
Like last week, Mustafi was probably the busiest of the back three. In the thick of it he won nine headers and four tackles as he helped keep a valuable clean sheet to take back to London.
Nacho Monreal – 7.0
Monreal didn’t offer too much during the game but nevertheless put in a decent shift.
Hector Bellerin – 7.2
Of late it’s fair to say that Bellerin’s form has started to pick up. He found himself in good positions yesterday and had a shout for a penalty but his final ball could’ve been better.
Aaron Ramsey – 7.3
Not his best performance in an Arsenal shirt as he, as did many going forward, seem a bit out of sync. However, it would be Ramsey to win our late penalty for Alexis to bury in added time.
Granit Xhaka – 6.9
Xhaka had a solid game and as he grew more frustrated it seemed to add to his game this time as he executed a perfect tackle moments before we took the lead.
Sead Kolasinac – 6.6
Kolasinac didn’t play badly, however, he didn’t offer too much once he’d received the ball in advanced positions and just seemed to think he had more time than he actually did.
Alex Iwobi – 6.8
Replacing Ozil in the starting 11, Iwobi didn’t quite hit the German’s heights yesterday but still showed some decent flashes during the game.
Alexis Sanchez – 7.5
Sanchez didn’t have the best game of his career, but he did what Arsenal currently need of him. When it came down to it his penalty was the difference between a sombre point and a well-fought victory.
Alexandre Lacazette – 6.9
Unfortunately for Lacazette his markers made it quite hard to fashion many chances for himself and were able to put blocks on the shots he did have.
Jack Wilshere – 6.8
Once on the pitch, Wilshere made an instant impact and helped drive us forward. He almost topped off his late introduction with a goal but a block saw the ball fizz wide.
Danny Welbeck – N/A
Wasn’t on long enough to do anything of note on his 27th birthday.
